What is the difference between BLS, ILS and ALS?
BLS (Basic Life Support) covers essential care such as CPR and AED use. ILS (Intermediate Life Support) adds IV therapy and advanced airway management. ALS (Advanced Life Support) provides the highest level of pre-hospital care, including drug administration and advanced cardiac and trauma intervention. We recommend the right tier based on your event's size, risk profile and attendee demographics.
Do you accept medical aid, or only cash?
Both. We work with all major medical aids — including Discovery Health, GEMS, Bonitas, Momentum and Coastal Med — and we also accept cash and card payments directly.
How quickly can you arrange event medical standby?
For most events we recommend booking at least 5–7 working days ahead so we can assess risk and allocate the right crew and equipment. For urgent requests, call our office directly on 071 505 9911 and we'll do everything we can to accommodate you.
Is Accimed EMS available 24 hours a day?
Yes. Our emergency response line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, across our KwaZulu-Natal service area.
